MOUNTAINS TO THE DESERT BIKE RIDE
This year’s ride is Saturday, September 24th and we have a few volunteer positions that need to be filled. If you are interested, or know someone that might be, please reach out to us directly at email@example.com.
All volunteer positions include lunch in Gateway the day of the ride, event t-shirt, water bottles and reusable bag + SWAG. We are also happy to reimburse your fuel expenses. The times included below are rough estimates and do include travel times.
AID STATION VOLUNTEER – 10 Miles South of Gateway
Ideally two people would “man” this aid station together. M2D provides all the necessities for the aid station the week before the ride and shows you where to set up, etc. You are responsible for your own transportation to the this location and transport of all the supplies (popup tent, table, food, water, etc.). Last year, everything was able to fit into a sedan with two people in the front seats. Your day is basically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and this includes driving time.
If you have a moto that is not a dirt bike, please contact if interested in helping with our motorcycle escort. This job entails riding between groups of riders to make sure there are no safety concerns. We have a safety briefing the week prior to the ride to make sure everyone is on the same page. This day is around 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. We reimburse for gas and provide lodging in Naturita or Norwood if that is of interest.
These positions include volunteers in Gateway at the Gateway Community Center. We have various positions available that include: food prep and food plating, setting up tables, manning the silent auction, traffic control outside, cleanup. These positions are from roughly 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. You need to provide your own transportation to Gateway.
AID STATION VOLUNTEER – Gateway Hill Climb
Ideally two to three people would “man” this aid station past Gateway at the top of the hill climb. M2D provides all the necessities for the aid station the week before the ride and shows you where to set up, etc. You are responsible for your own transportation to the this location and transport of all the supplies (popup tent, table, food, water, etc.). Last year, everything was able to fit into a sedan with two people in the front seats. Your day is basically from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and this includes driving time.
Sag Wagon Driver
This person basically follows the last rider and picks up anyone who decides not to ride anymore, needs help, etc. We stock the van with snacks, bike tubes, etc. This person essentially follows the pack of riders to Gateway, up the hill climb and back to the community center. This day is from about 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM and requires driving a company van.
