Welcome
to the 5th annual Mountains to the Desert Ride (M2D),
a stunning one
day,
133 mile road ride from the peaks of Telluride, Colorado,
to the high desert
of Moab, Utah. The
purpose of our
event is to promote regional community, physical fitness,
and to raise money for
Just For Kids Foundation (JFK)
www.jfktelluride.weebly.com.
In
2007 we raised a record $70,000,
which the Cheryl Carstens-Miller family matched,
creating the
annual budget for JFK, a regional non-profit
children’s granting organization.
Although a small event with only 150 riders, the ride is fully supported with
sag wagons, volunteer
emt’s, several aid
stations,
and at the end of
the day we all gather for a lasagna and beer dinner
in Moab. Organized starts
allow for distances
of
133
miles,
101 miles, 69 miles,
or 37 miles. We encourage everyone to take
part in the fundraising, which is easy
and
and
gives everyone, who
has raised
at least $ 100, a chance to win one of several prizes
including a custom
hand built
MOOTS

titanium road or
mountain bike! Of
course the more
you raise…the
better your odds of winning.
Everyone
who rides will receive our
now classic organic cotton
t-shirt,
event water bottle,
lots of aid station food & drink,
and
a memorable dinner in Moab!
